Random Thoughts

The first of the giggly girls got married last month. Never thought Al Dudette, the bride, who was born to get her pictures clicked would actually reach a point when she would shoo away the photographers! It’s almost like me saying I’ve had enough to eat!
***************

Performed on Sawariya for Al Dudette’s wedding. 4 months of salsaing and not a bit of it showed in any of my movements! Blamed it on our ageing 27 year old brains to not remember any of our steps once on stage. Even the scurrying off the stage post our performance wasn't graceful enough!
***************

Saw a very sweet scene last week on my walk to office....an old man walked out of the Bank of Baroda, holding up what seemed to be his updated passbook and smiling to himself. Pension day? :)
***************

Attended a wedding of an Indian boy marrying a firangi girl. Since the girl's family is far removed from the joota churai concept, we see the groom’s sister’s snickering in a corner with the bride’s shoes tucked under their arms!!! Very convenient to reverse the ritual and earn in dollars too! Needless to say the poor foreigner family got suckered....
***************

Important lesson learnt in life. Never eat and type at the same time. A crumble would roll onto the keyboard and possibly get suck under the T key and you can spend a good 10 mins trying to type out the t’s in the blog. Man, T must be the most commonly used alphabet or something…
***************

Cannot believe Deepika Padukone is seeing Yuvraj Singh. He's so ghaati!
***************

I need to buy a white jacket. Went out last night and all the page 3 varieties seemed to be sporting one. I felt very out of place in my oversize blue sweater which went for a wash last in 1875 or something!
***************

Met some Aunty who was bragging about her granddaughter and aweing at the kind of wit and intelligence kids nowadays show. To make her point, she tells my mom "Aajkal ke bacche toh bade computerized ho gaye hain" (Kids of today are highly computerised!). Cheers to pathbreaking English!
***************

Cried for 2.5 hours watching Tare Zameen Par. Would've cried all of the 3 hours but thanks to my punctual boy we arrived 1/2 hour late for the movie
***************

The crumb has now rolled down to the V key now....man....this is annoying.....

you could have pulled out all the keys and have got rid of the crumb. you could have found loads of interesting things in the cleaning process!!

He is not ghaati he is jaat.. worse than a ghaati!!

2.5 hours !!!!
c'mon Zee ... i can give you 1 or say 1.5 hours... but that's it.
though I have my reservations about the movie, it is still BRILLIANT.
and to neutralize the TZP effect, I watched Welcome right after :P

and salsa !!!! sawariya !!!!
GOOD JOB :P

how can you dance to sawariya?? pls send video if you have!! btw, you're the only one wearing non-punju saree in the pics! cheers to that! lol!

i cried in ZP, and not just cried, sobbed!! and apparently my cousin and i were the only ones in the entire hall crying! everyone else was totally dry-eyed! heartless people!

CandidConfessions said...

Aww.. I cried too watching taare zameen par.. Absolutely adored the movie!

Renovatio said...

The key to that is to turn the keyboard upside-down, and shake the living crap out of it. Crumbs you didn't even know were there will pop right out.

i hope the next of the giggly girls to get married is you... we need some partying so please do the honours :)

nutty said...

LOL!!!!

as usual - hilarious!

do we get a video on youtube of the saawariya performance?

errrr... at the risk of being killed by all male readers - deepika padukone isn't all that great either so who cares who she dates :P

crying thru TZP - been there done that .. tho I was so silent about no one came to know ;) phew! (of crs they do now thanks to this stupid comment from me :P)

you havent seen worse things..imagine a idiot who was cleaning the keyboard of a laptop with vaccum cleaner in full throttle only to end up few keys gettin sucked up..it was so gratifying to see him open the vaccum dust bag searching for his P's and Q's..;-P

The old man must be smiling because his kid(s) must have send in some good money (I hope); I like that; when kids take care of their parents.
how can you "perform" at your friend's wedding; it so annoying. I know I used to so hate it when my mom used to force me to sing a song or something. doing something imprompto is so much more fun; but ah well to each his/her own, I guess! send me movie.
watch Bhagam Bhaag; you will forget TZP.

You wanna see a real cute movie; see Knocked Up; its a sort of movie of what would happen if Abhinav Madan & Deepika Khattar suddenly realise that they want a baby. I am NOT joking!

Zee said...

rt....yes it did!!! i bet u cried too!

anurag...yes pl go see it...the crumb is gone now....

s4n...buying a keyboard in my laptop would be a rather expensive proposition now!

adarsh...won't say it's brilliant but it sure made me howl!

searching....we were all howling in the hall....see...watching a movie in india is so much better!

candid...the kid is so cute!

renovatio....shake up a whole laptop??? errr....no thanks

nutty....all i can say is nice knowing u...the guys are going to kill u

mathew...it was u wasn't it! confess confess

shool..bhagam bhag was terrible!!!! our performance was one out of 16 by a professional choreographer and there were 6 of us on stage!!!

Anshul said...

Salsa-ing to Saawariya! That seems like an interesting first! :D
And may I rise to Yuvraj's defense here and say that jaat (jatt?) boys seem far worse than they are. I've spent a lot of time in Yuvi's city! Personal experience speaking!
Take care and keep talking.

IR said...

funny as usual
i have to agree with people before me, how can anyone dance on saawariya ? :-) , and if you mean the title song, is'nt that a male song ?

yuvraj=ghati haha!

The Keeper of the Keys said...

you managed to get stuff stuck in ur laptop???
and yeah, yuvraj is a git.
and TZP rocks.

you didnt mention the fall during the performance...

DreamCatcher said...

while the majority is on Yuvi's case...I find Deepika equally lacking in class...and that too I haven't watched her movie. Just her appearance in one of the reality TV shows manages to turn me off. I was annoyed by her southindian accented english. Nothing against the southindian accent but I guess I was surprised cause I wasn't expecting it. OK Ok it was a trace accent...but it annoyed me. So I would say match made in heaven. Amen!

With all respect to Indians, as I am one myself. What the F^&& is wrong with a southIndian accent! North Indian is not exactly Prince charles is it? And Judging someone's class by thier accent, if you ask me ... umm, neva mind, getting carried away.

So I have landed here god-only-knows-from-where...and your writing is so funny that I threaten to be back....

Ensuring that my laptop remains crumb-free is my number one reason to go on a diet...and if even my number one reason doesn't work, I guess that means that the diet should meet an early end at once.

Hmmm this post seems to have opened a torrent of comments!!!!

Nice post. I actually was battling with the crumbs problem before this , so I guess its kinda universal.

Abt Deepika, Yuvi is not a hunk nor is she a Bomb, I guess they will suit each other.

Yep, shake it baby! ;)

Like the way you keep shifting perspectives along with your posts, as well as the ease with which dark humour creeps into your work.

Rolled over to your blog from anurag's... and its good. Regarding the crumbs thing - I once had some sweets under the keys and ants had made home in my laptop. You press "P" - loads of ants start running out, "T" - the same result! Took a full 2 days, after putting it under the sun and wiping it clean to remove the last of the ants :)
